Businesses and homeowners who want managed, monitorable networking rather than consumer kit — and sites that already run UniFi but have nobody looking after it. UniFi hardware is used on most JKL Electrix installs, including the bar and visitor-attraction projects on this site.

Survey and diagnosis

How the property is assessed first.

  4. 4Plan the VLAN and SSID structure around how the site actually operates.

UniFi Installation — common questions

Can you take over a UniFi network someone else installed?
Yes. Existing hardware is audited, adopted into a controller you have access to, updated and reconfigured where the settings are causing problems. Replacement is only recommended where the hardware genuinely cannot do the job.
Is UniFi better than a mesh system from a retailer?
For anything larger than a small flat, hard-wired UniFi access points are more predictable than mesh, because each unit has its own wired link back to the switch instead of relaying through its neighbours.
Do I need a cloud subscription?
No. The controller can run on site, and the network keeps working whether or not it is reachable from the internet.
Will I be locked in to you?
No. Administrative credentials and documentation are handed over on completion, so another engineer can pick the site up if you ever want them to.
Do you supply the hardware?
Hardware is specified after the survey and quoted as part of the work. If you have already bought units, they are used where they suit the site.
