Who network monitoring is for
Sites running managed equipment that cannot afford silent failures — hospitality venues, visitor attractions and offices where the first sign of a fault is usually a customer complaint.
Testing, labelling and handover
- Baseline figures recorded so later changes can be compared against them.
- Configuration backups stored and refreshed after changes.
- Summary reporting available on request rather than buried in a dashboard.
Service area: Monitored sites across County Down and Northern Ireland, supported from Downpatrick.
Network Monitoring — common questions
- Is this a 24/7 help desk?
- No. Alerts are actioned during working hours, with priority given to monitored sites. That is stated plainly rather than dressed up as round-the-clock cover.
- Can you monitor equipment you didn't install?
- Often yes, where the hardware supports remote management. It is checked as part of taking the site on.
- What can you actually see?
- Switch and access-point health, client counts, firmware status and broadband availability — enough to tell a genuine fault from a busy evening.
- Does monitoring stop faults happening?
- No, but it shortens them. Knowing an access point rebooted at 4pm is the difference between a fix and another round of guesswork.
