Does everything keep working during an outage?
Not necessarily, and that is set out in writing. Priority normally goes to card terminals and EPOS; heavy uses like CCTV cloud upload or large file transfers are usually held back.
How quickly does it switch over?
Failover is automatic on loss of the main connection. There is a short gap while it switches, so a payment in progress may need to be retried once.
Will it work at our address?
That is checked by measuring mobile signal on site before anything is quoted. Where signal is marginal, an external antenna position is considered.
Is there an ongoing cost?
Yes — a mobile data plan for the backup connection. The size of plan is matched to what the site would realistically use during outages.
