Crossgar remote work — budget-conscious hardwired AP install
A homeworker whose upstairs office was on the wrong side of the house from the router. Video calls dropped daily and the ISP kit was doing its best.

The problem
Working from home five days a week on Wi-Fi from the far end of the house. Video calls froze during handoffs and file uploads timed out. A whole new mesh setup would have been overkill for the budget.
What I did
- Single hardwired access point placed after a walk-through, not guessed.
- Cat6 drop run through existing containment where possible.
- Router config cleaned up and channel plan tuned to reduce interference from neighbouring networks.
The result
Reliable video calls, stable file uploads, no more dropouts during work hours — at a fraction of the cost of a full mesh replacement.
